The White-eared Sibia (Heterophasia auricularis) is found only on the island of Taiwan, migrating to lower elevations in winter, but inhabiting mostly evergreen forests more than three thousand feet above sea level in summer. Members of the laughingthrush family, Leiothrichidae, they are medium-small, weighting about 40 to 50 grams (1.4 to 1.8 ounces). This painting, done in 2009, is in acrylics on compressed hardboard and is 10 X 8 inches. $250.00
