The Green Frog (Lithobates clamitans) is widely distributed here in North America. Typical of amphibians, it is highly variable in color and markings, this one being a bronze variation of the northern subspecies, L. c. melanota, who I encountered in the Rouge Valley watershed of Toronto’s east end. The painting is square, 8 X 8 inches, in oils on acrylic on compressed hardboard. $150.00. Sold.
