Artist's Description
This painting is of the odd-looking Bateleur Eagle (Terathopius ecaudatus), found only in Africa (and a small part of Arabia, including Yemen). It has a very short tail, that is red in colour, but barely shows in the pose I chose for this painting, a mixed media (mostly acrylic), on compressed hardboard, done approximately life-sized with Mount Kilimanjaro in the background. 30 X 40 inches. $3000.
